In today's post I will talk about my pet named Pepina. Pepina is an Argentine parrot, this is a very abundant species in Chile, which have been classified as pests, since they make "collective nests" so heavy that they can knock down trees or large branches and cause accidents. However, it is their nature and I think they are not to blame.Pepina arrived at the garden of my house with a wing injured because a cat attacked her, hurt her wing and it began to bleed. When I captured her she was very scared and aggressive, she was trying to attack me. After a while a bird vet came to see her and she did not resist being taken, the vet said that it meant that she was very bad and depressed so she was resigned to die. She started a treatment of antibiotics but she stopped eating, and the stress caused by being locked up made her go into a state of pulling out her feathers, she became malnourished and weighed 60g (her normal weight is 100g)
Then her wing didn't get better and they had to amputate her limb, everything seemed to go wrong. But one day, she began to receive all the love we gave her at home and she began to eat, her mood changed and she let her feathers grow, and her health improved until she was a healthy bird
Nowadays she is a very docile and affectionate parrot, she lives at home where we have everything adapted so that she can move without problems climbing (since she cannot fly). She is a member of the family and we love her very much.
ooow! what a lovely story, she looks so well and happy now!
